Pit bulls have been given a lot of bad press over the last twenty years, but as with all dogs it is rarely the breed of dog, and more likely the quality of the owner that determines the behavior or the dog. Whilst news stories are always interested in only reporting the negative news because that’s what sells, the damage that can be done to a dog breeds reputation and even future existence, can be potentially terminal.
Unfortunately, this breed suffered more from attracting the wrong type of owner as opposed to anything they personally did. Certain animal charities have been working hard to change the public perception, and now with the help of the local Police Force, the tide may slowly be turning. In this video, we meet ‎Officer Justin Bruzgal and his new police dog Kiah. They work out of the Poughkeepsie Police Department and they are working every day to make a difference in their local community and alter stereotypes about Pit bulls. Hopefully, once you watch this video, you will start to reconsider your thoughts about Pit bulls and we will have helped to spread the positive news about these special dogs that deserve as much love as any other breed.
