German Shepherds are used by police forces the world over due to their extreme intelligence. They can be trained to do lots of various crime fighting, but also are intellectual enough to be able to think for themselves and work out how to solve the puzzle.
This video shows exactly how clever they can be. The german shepherd has had his dinner but in true Oliver Twist fashion, he is not satisfied and wants some more. First of all, he slams the food ball with his paw, and when that doesn’t get the desired effect, he then decides to bark at his owner, but with that having little effect, he puts the rest of his plan into action. Knowing exactly where his food is stored, and realising that his owner doesn’t seem to be much help, he goes to the cupboard and proceeds to try and open the door.
Eventually with a little help from his owner he manages to get the door open and then goes to the exact spot where the food is stored. His owner whilst still not being very helpful, has to be told exactly what to do. So the dog puts his nose to the food container, and then walks back to his bowl and hits it again.
