This Saint Bernard woke up her owners in the middle of the night and refused to let them go back to sleep.
“Probably about 2 o’clock in the morning Doree started whining, or had been whining, for a little while,” Jack Damrill said. “Kind of pacing around the bed.”
Then the cats started meowing very loud and he noticed the smell of gas. Eventually he found the burner on the stove had been left on low, filling their home with natural gas. The family believes that the dog and the cats saved their lives, but most of the credit goes to Doree.
