American soldiers in Afghanistan often have a difficult time but there are highlights to their tour of duty that may be what is remembered for a lifetime. That is the case with this group of soldiers who, in 2013, came across a stray pregnant dog who was sick. They realized that the dog and her puppies were in danger.
Rather than simply passing her by, they took responsibility and began giving the dogs their rations. They bonded with the dogs but when they had to leave Afghanistan, the dog stayed behind in a shelter. Now, they are reunited and the dogs have a forever home!
