Service dogs are such amazing creatures, enabling their owners to achieve a much-improved lifestyle and giving them independence and dignity in life. I don’t think any of us can ever appreciate just how important these animals are and the star of today’s show is George a Great Dane who has changed Bella his 11-year old’s owners life beyond compare. Bella suffers from a disease which unfortunately will get progressively worse called Morquio Syndrome. The verdict for Bella didn’t look particularly positive with doctors expecting her to have to spend the rest of her life on crutches. They had not however factored in the friendship of Bella and George.
When Bella met George, it was a life saver. The huge dog gave her the balance and determination to walk again and as you will see in the video with a little help from George she is up and about on her feet. George may be huge as a Great Dane you would expect nothing else, but he truly is a gentle giant. In the video you are about to watch, George is having the best day ever. This is a one-off special day where the dog, gets given the day off and spoiled. He gets taken for a huge meal of burgers and then gets to do some of his favourite activities.
