It is often said that things happen for a reason, and there is certainly one dog who found that nearly dying by drowning in Lake Michigan, was actually the best thing that could have happened to him.
His dramatic rescue was captured and made the news. The police officers that rescued him named him perhaps a little obvious, Michigan. Upon being rescued the dog was taken to the nearby Humane Society, but nobody turned up to claim him.This was good news for both Michigan and his new mum Brenda who upon seeing the news rushed to the Humane Society to adopt him. Michigan is now happily ensconced in his new home and who could argue that the day he nearly drowned, was actually the day his life changed for the better.
