The bond between man and dog is legendary. We have all heard many stories of dogs stepping into the breach and saving a man’s life but personally, I am always intrigued and interested to read more of these stories. This is a great story that involves a little modern technology. Police received a call notifying then that Martin Kay a senior citizen had been missing for a few hours.
It was getting cold and dark and the area in question was surrounded by forests. Luckily for Martin with the advance of modern technology thermal imaging cameras carried on the police helicopters allow ‎large areas of land to be swept relatively quickly. Whilst the police were involved in the search, it turns out that poor Martin had fallen into some quicksand and anyone who has experienced that particular substance knows that your best bet is to lie really still. The more you move the more you get sucked in.
But what makes this story really special and probably helped Martin was that his dog never moved an inch from his side for the seven hours he was trapped. The dog stayed to offer support and protection and once again demonstrated the amazing devotion of our wonderful canine friends. I bet the helicopter pilot got a shock when he saw the shape on the camera.
