For four little opossums, life was looking pretty bleak. Having lost their mother to a dog in Rio De Jeneiro it was going to be difficult to look after the little Joeys.They were so young, that their eyes were still closed. The task of trying to same them fell to Stephanie Maldonado a dog trainer. But whilst he tried his best, it was actually his pet dog Prethina who came to the rescue.
She took it upon herself to nurse and protect them ,to look after them and ensure their well being.As their strength improved she even started carrying them around, piggyback style. Whilst the relationship between the dog and the opossums is lovely to watch, Stephanie has no intention of keeping the dogs and is hoping sometime in the near future to return them to the wild where they belong.
