Humane Society Recovers Poor Escaped Dogs, 61 Days After They Went Missing Amazing Story

The problem with rescuing dogs, especially from a property where they have been neglected or poorly treated is that they are much more likely to be wary of human contact, so the rescue process becomes significantly more difficult. Having rescued over 50 dogs from one hoarder’s property these two border collies who are inseparable were the last two remaining dogs that needed to be rehomed. But before that could happen they both jumped over the fence and ran off into the depths of the District Highlands of Canada.

A massive search was undertaken by the entire community looking for the two wonderful dogs.“There was no chance we wouldn’t catch them because we weren’t going to give up,” Penny Stone, the executive director of the animal charity, told Canada’s CTV News. Over 500 Lost dog posters were printed and distributed, bloodhounds were called in, and even thermal imaging camera. There really was no stone left unturned. Eventually, cameras that had been set up in the woods caught the dogs roaming, and the rescuers were then able to set a trap to catch the two best buddies. Stone is still supremely confident that with a little love and affection, these dogs will be rehomed, on one condition of course, that they remain together.
