Around 20 dogs are spending their last years at House with a Heart Senior Pet Sanctuary in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Sher Polvinale and a team of volunteers take care of these older cats and dogs, washing them, feeding them food or medications and taking them to the veterinarian.
Sher Polvinale and her late husband, Joe, created this senior pet sanctuary in 2006 at their home. Cats and dogs who would otherwise be homeless or euthanized are provided with a loving forever home.
